"The Nikon S60 Detects up to 12 faces"

This is a Nikon Camera Ad. I think that its main message or objective to send is that it can focus really good. This ad shows how someone is holding the camera and taking a picture of a man that is standing in front of a lot of trees and bushes, probably somewhere out in the wild. The image on the camera shows a square around the face of the man meaning that it is focused on the face. It just doesn't show the man's face focused but also of 6 others in the background. You can tell that they are in the bushes  because the focusing square is around each one of them. Nikon wants to really emphasize how good their cameras can focus. The ad shows how their cameras can focus on faces even though it is hard to see them with the normal eye because the people in the background are well hidden and even look as if they have camouflage. Since most people take pictures of faces, like their family, the face focus feature is a good selling point. By stating that it detects up to 12 faces it makes the camera seem more sophisticated and appealing because 12 seems like it's so much and it's probably more than any other camera has. The promise that this ad makes is that the Nikon Camera can detect and focus on any face that is on the picture frame, making the faces more clear. I think that the intended audience for this ad are people who like taking pictures of their friends, families, or others. Since this camera captures the face clearly you can get a better image of the person you are taking the picture of. This ad is also intended for people who take adventures or hikes into the wild, or nature because you want the picture to focus on the faces.

  1. I found this most amusing with the faces in the background being detected by camera. The designer did a good job at highlighting the camera's sophistication of showing that it's detecting things beyond the human eye, and because of those background hidden face's it holds the attention much more as to tempt consumers to buy this. The audience for the camera is what you've mentioned as well so good job.
